Outlook stuck updating inbox

only the old emails are shown, and new emails are not downloaded to Outlook, even though the status bar stated that the folder is updated.The new contents such as emails, contacts, calendar items, tasks, notes and others are not updated and not downloaded even though user manually select “update folder” in order to pull the new data.When the items in Outlook is mismatched with online version, the cached items may be corrupted.So try to clear the offline items by following these steps: Resolution 2: Delete OST Files Outlook caches and stores email messages, calendar events and other items in Offline Storage Table (.ost) file.I can see about 23K mails when I check the synchronization through the inbox properties.

I’m not sure what is going on, whether people are changing their rules accidently or Outlook/is doing it, but several people needed my help finding missing email and discovered their rules were messed up.

Try one of the following suggestions to fix the issue.

Resolution 1: Clear Offline Items Most Exchange account configured in Outloook has Cached Exchange Mode enabled by default to allow user to continue working with Outlook when offline in addition to improve the performance.

This is a solution to a very popular question of how to create a Unified Inbox in Outlook 2010. While not quite the same as a true Unified Inbox for all email accounts, it has one advantage a true unified inbox does not offer: a very easy way to filter out the mail you don't want to see in a unified view by adding additional queries to the txt Search line in each macro.

This solution could easily be adapted to apply any frequently used search conditions to a folder.Visit your Account Settings, then Advanced for the mail account that you are having trouble with.
